Anthony Fauci's Biggest Lie

            Anthony Fauci’s big lie has cost almost 800,000 American lives since February 2020. He was not honest with the American people, their representatives, nor their physicians. Unless it is corrected, Fauci’s lie could again cost this nation millions of lives in the approaching pandemic of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza.  

            Dr Fauci’s continuing lie is that there are no drugs to treat early Covid-19 infection except for Paxlovid. Paxlovid took two years to develop and get to market while people were told nothing else existed for early treatment. To the contrary, a whole class of drugs exists that can effectively slow progression and reduce the symptoms of Covid-19 and most other viral diseases. They are called nuclear-factor kappaB inhibitors - NF-kBIs for short. One is dexamethasone. Physicians use the steroid dexamethasone against Covid only once patients are hospitalized. Why did they fail to use half-a-dozen other, less strong nonsteroidal NF-kBIs to try to keep people healthy and prevent hospitalization? Most of these drugs could have been used from day-one of infection to slow Covid disease progression and prevent hospitalization and death. These inhibitors all act as antiviral drugs to reduce both viral replication and inflammation. Physicians call them anti-inflammatories. But they are also antivirals. They should be called broad-spectrum antiviral drugs - because they are. That is because they inhibit the primary stimulant to viral replication - NF-kappaB. Just as gas propels a car engine, the human protein NF-kB is the strongest stimulant to increase viral replication and inflammation. Reducing or inhibiting this protein reduces both inflammation and viral replication. Reducing viral replication slows disease progression and allows the slow starting adaptive immune system a better chance to gain control of the infection.

            Technically, NF-kB is a replication factor - a viral replication factor. By definition, any drug that inhibits NF-kB works as a broad-spectrum antiviral drug. Thus, almost all those anti-inflammatory drugs sitting on the pharmacy shelf are also antiviral drugs. Why did Anthony Fauci fail to tell the American people the truth when he repeatedly lied that there were no early therapies for Covid-19 infection? He knew better. I emailed his deputy Dr Clifford Lane in March 2020 reminding him. But Fauci already knew this science, just as most people know gas propels a car. In an ignominious conflict of interest, he chose to ignore low cost, effective therapies.                  

Dr Anthony Fauci cleverly has been dissembling to the American people for decades. That resulted in tens of thousands of premature American deaths due to AIDS, hundreds of thousands of lives lost to Covid, and millions of deaths in Africa due to this misinformation campaign and related scientific research coverups.

            Were NF-kBIs tested against Covid-19? Yes. They were tested in the form of dexamethasone, one of the very few therapies found to consistently help save lives of Covid patients. The comparative strength of these drugs against inflammation equals their comparative strengths against viral replication. That is because they do both via the same cellular pathway, by inhibiting the NF-kB protein.

            NF-kBI drugs come in a range of strengths and can be used at different phases of Covid by escalating to more powerful NF-kBIs as the disease intensifies. There was never any scientific or ethical reason to delay using these safe, available, affordable, antiviral drugs. Why did people have to wait until they were hospitalized instead of taking less powerful dexamethasone-like drugs? They could have started taking weaker NSAID NF-kBIs from the beginning. Was this a betrayal of the American people? If not, what would you call it?    

            If we had used broad-spectrum antivirals from the start, most hospitalizations and approximately half of all deaths from Covid-19 could have been averted. They certainly would have been if we had added selenium to those antiviral drugs.

            How does SARS-CoV-2 damage lung tissue and reduce the transfer of oxygen from lung alveola cells to their associated capillaries?  How does Covid-19 progress from moderate to severe disease, to sepsis, multi-organ-failure, and death? Both those aspects of Covid are caused by SARS-CoV-2’s Env gene genetically encoding a selenoprotein to help constitute its protective outer envelope. Attacking cell’s selenium supply destroys cellular antioxidants, damages cells, and eventually depletes selenium. That loss of selenium causes CD4 immune cell depletion and immune system collapse. The subsequent massive cell death spills toxins into intercellular space causing a cytokine storm, sepsis, multi-organ-failure, and death. In many, possibly most cases, this deadly progression can be reversed with the timely, adequate supplementation of the essential trace element selenium.           

Selenium is the irreplaceable, key ingredient needed to construct cellular antioxidants. This mineral forms the function core or “active site” of most antioxidants in each cell. Thus, it is absolutely essential for cellular health. All aspects of immune function also require selenium to maintain bodily health. When deadly viruses deplete enough selenium, the CD4 white blood cell count and immune system collapse in tandem. This happens in HIV/AIDS, Ebola, and Covid-19. It will happen perhaps even faster when the highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza pandemic strikes within the next year or two - or sooner. To date, the mortality rate in humans of H5N1 avian influenza-A has been between 56% and 85+%. Now is the time to end the shunning and cover-up of early, broad-spectrum therapies against viral disease. Before it is too late, the government needs to plan to educate the medical community and the public about broad-spectrum antiviral drugs that are available nationwide. The NIH and the CDC will fail miserably again because of their ingrained, institutionalized conflicts of interest. Unless public health agencies prioritize public health above new drug development, many more than necessary will die.             

It is easy to deny or hide partial pandemic solutions. Tony Fauci is expert at it. Tens of thousands of Americans died prematurely of AIDS in the early 1990s because these same drugs were ignored. Untold millions may die in the US if these well-known, well-characterized, safe, effective, affordable, drugs are not used as soon as the deadly H5N1 influenza-A pandemic arrives on our shore. Scientists know Tamiflu is largely ineffective.           

Members of Congress can chase each other down the rabbit hole of the Lab Leak theory, but who does that benefit? No one really. Whether SARS-CoV-2 emerged from a Wuhan lab, or a Wuhan market did not cost a single extra American life. It did cost 500,000 American lives when physicians and ordinary citizens were misled into believing there were no drugs at all to treat early Covid from the start of infection.

The world has entered the Age of Pandemics. A strategy based on a coverup of the basic scientific facts and time-consuming new drug development does not work. It is self-defeating.  It must be replaced with a “use what works” strategy that saves lives from the start. Despite their advocates, ivermectin is essentially a poison. Chloroquine stimulates NF-kB and increases viral replication. They both run contrary to implementing a successful antiviral treatment plan. Steroid and non-steroid NF-kB inhibitors and selenium are all proven broad-spectrum antivirals with decades of safety to recommend them. Most can be used daily from the beginning until the end of infection. They include aspirin (1) naproxen (6) diclofenac (15) curcumin (131) dexamethasone (210) and tamoxifen (567). The numbers represent their NF-kB inhibiting strength compared to aspirin, rated at one (1).         

Unfortunately, despite his sterling reputation, Anthony Fauci betrayed America so he could help his CEO friends enrich themselves. During Covid billionaires lined their pockets as ordinary citizens died. We need to end serial pandemic failure and the betrayal of public health before killer H5N1 avian flu arrives to kill millions more Americans. This nation needs fewer government sanctioned lies, and more affordable, practical solutions.
